Cattle Sales Agreement & Health Acknowledgment
Health Guarantee & Sales Terms
1. Health at Time of Sale
The seller affirms that this Dexter is in good health to the best of the seller’s knowledge at the time of sale. The animal has been eating, drinking, and behaving normally while in the seller’s care. The buyer is encouraged to inspect the animal and ask any questions before completing the purchase.
2. Health Guarantee
If the buyer believes the animal is ill within 72 hours of pickup, the buyer must notify the seller immediately and provide documentation from a licensed veterinarian. No refunds or replacements will be considered without veterinary documentation. The seller is not responsible for illness or injury that occurs after the animal leaves the seller’s care due to transportation, stress, changes in environment, feed, weather, or management practices.
3. Biosecurity
To protect the health of all animals, Ebenezer Farms practices strict biosecurity. Once a Dexter leaves the farm, it may not be returned to the property. Returned animals are not accepted under any circumstances.
4. Deposits & Reservations
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a Dexter. The deposit will be applied toward the purchase price. If the buyer cancels the purchase or fails to complete payment within the agreed time frame, the deposit is forfeited. Reservations are confirmed only after the required deposit has been received.
5. Registration & Genetics
Registration paperwork, when applicable, will be provided after full payment has been received. Ebenezer Farms accurately represents each animal’s registration status and any documented genetic testing, including A2/A2 milk genetics when applicable. The buyer assumes responsibility for future registration transfers, breeding decisions, and herd management after the sale.
6. Breeding Soundness
Breeding animals are believed to be healthy and reproductively sound at the time of sale. However, because breeding success depends on factors beyond the seller’s control—including nutrition, management, health, and environment—no guarantee of future fertility or reproductive performance is expressed or implied.
7. Buyer Responsibility
The buyer acknowledges that proper fencing, pasture management, nutrition, clean water, mineral supplementation, and routine veterinary care are essential to the health and well-being of their cattle. Ebenezer Farms is happy to answer questions and provide guidance after the sale, but the buyer accepts full responsibility for the animal once it leaves the farm.
8. No Guarantee of Future Performance
While every effort is made to accurately represent each Dexter, Ebenezer Farms cannot guarantee mature size, milk production, calving ease, breeding performance, temperament, or show results, as these may be influenced by genetics, nutrition, environment, and management.
9. Agreement
By submitting a purchase form and completing the purchase, the buyer acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to the terms outlined in this Dexter Cattle Sales Agreement & Health Acknowledgment.
